Before completing my commitment I was a member of the Army wrestling team, participated in Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Operation Joint Endeavor. I had a fulfilling experience with the Army. I enlisted in the Army as a field artillery cannoneer, and completed Basic and Advanced Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in November, 1986. I departed for the Army just six days after graduation in 1986. Walking away from the best friends and "family" I have encountered to this day. I completed four years of High School in two years. Like most of us I often ask myself why I was in such a hurry. The bottom line is that I was part of the graduating class of 1987, but at the end of my junior year (1986) I had all the credits I needed to graduate so I did. I am sure it was a bit difficult to remember just what graduating class I was part of because of my class schedule, and yearbook picture locations. It was the first of many opportunities that came my way as a student at ICC, and I can honestly say I am grateful for each and every one of them. So my first days with ICC unfortunately were summer school classes, but it gave me the opportunity to start school that September as a sophomore instead of a freshman who was a year behind. I arrived at ICC in the summer of 1984 as one of the original eight "Kinderhof Boys". I was born in Bronx, New York, on 6 March 1969. Because I only went to high school at ICC I will start a little bit further back.
